Why choose GAE-Board? Google App Engine is a cloud hosted service on which you can run robust web applications. App Engine greatly simplifies the development process, and is free to use up to a generous quota. If you think you've got the next great web idea, but don't have a clue on where to get started, GAE-Board is a great choice for many reasons.

How GAE-Board came to be.. Arjun, GAE-Board's founder and developer, started experimenting with App Engine after learning Python for his lab work. Soon enough a friend asked for help in setting up a website, one that was slightly beyond the capabilities of a Facebook/Myspace Page or Blogger/Wordpress blog. This friend did not know/care about which database or server to use, only that she had an idea and it needed a website. That's the basic concept behind GAE-Board: free-lance web development for the rest of us..
What are Bits and how do I use them? Bits, denoted like ¢100, are the currency unit on GAE-Board. Both Clients and Developers spend bits on various services such as posting or bidding on projects. New accounts start with ¢100 bits and you can recharge your balance on your account page. The aim of the Bit system is to keep up the quality of projects, bids and templates.
How can I pay or get paid on GAE-Board?. Currently GAE-Board leaves it up to the developers and clients to work out a payment method, for example PayPal via email. Soon we plan to allow developers to enable Google Checkout as a payment option for convenience. GAE-Board has no plans to charge any "closing fee" on successful projects.
